BackerKit Surveys and Pledge Manager coming soon!

Hello my dearest Backers,

First off, thank you all for your patience. This Update is to inform you about two topics.

  • Funds have been transferred by Kickstarter
  • BackerKit Surveys and Pledge Manager coming soon

Kickstarter Funds have been processed and transferred! Kickstarter takes a minimum of 14 days to process the payment information provided by you. It's quite common that some payments can't be processed due to issues with the information given. Unfortunately, some Backers were dropped due to these issues. But don't worry, that is a quite common occurrence and had no impact on whether or not the funds needed to proceed could be collected. So now that the funds have been released, we're able to go into production quite soon!

And now to BackerKit:

BackerKit is an online pledge manager tool for Kickstarter campaigns that provides a smooth experience for Backers. It takes your pledge information and guides you through a quick survey and confirming your order.

When you're reading this, you should've received an invitation to your personal pledge manager.

Here's how BackerKit works:

The first slide will show you your pledge and pledge level. Select your country for shipping and get started with the survey.

The questions depend on your pledge level, mostly regarding your pledge. Please be sure to answer those, to ensure that you get the rewards you deserve (i.e. your name in the rule book)

Once you've completed the survey, you'll continue to the Add-On's page.

Example: As you can see, your pledge level includes the game and shipping (one copy of the game is automatically in your cart).

If you pledged more than the pledge level & shipping cost, the difference is marked as "credit" and can be used to pay towards add-ons.

If you didn't add the cost of an add-on to your pledge, you can still get them here.

If you haven't pledged for the game, you can pre-order here too!

If you select items that will cost more than your initial pledge covers, you can pay when confirming your details in the end.

After you've chosen your add-ons (if any) you'll get redirected to your shipping information (if you're getting a copy of the game)

Simple enough, eh?

Last step; confirmation (and payment if rewards selected exceed your initial pledge)

Now just hit PLACE MY ORDER and you're set!

Thanks again and if you have any questions, just let me know in the comments.

Post Campaign Update 1 - Funds are being processed!
almost 5 years ago – Thu, Jul 04, 2019 at 12:56:53 AM

Hey dear Backers of VIAE!

I have to apologize that it has taken a while to post a new update. The post-campaign updates will have a lower frequency due to a lot of things happening behind the scenes, such as finalizing all files for Production, shipping confirmations etc. There will however be a by-weekly update with relevant news for you!

So here's the first update for you!

There's a lot going on this month!

- Ivan Reber is currently finalizing the Artworks for the Characters in VIAE. The rest of the characters will be posted on social media and updated on the Website as soon as their card design has been finalized.

(Here's a preview of the most recent Artwork of the Legatus!)

- If you got dropped as a Backer due to complications processing your payment, no worries; you cna still pre-order a copy of VIAE through the BackerKit pre-order Store here: https://viae-roads-of-rome.backerkit.com/hosted_preorders

- The Rulebook is getting a slight wording update and translations to French, Spanish, Italian and German are in the works!

- We're still waiting on Kickstarter to transfer the funds so VIAE can go into production as soon as possible. Once the funds have been transferred, all Backers will receive an invitation to fill out a survey and the link to VIAE's BackerKit Pledge Management Page. There you will be able to select your add-ons and confirm your shipping address.

So that's all the updates I have for you this time. Unfortunately, while waiting on the funds, there's not much to do than update the Printing-data and hold out. But as soon as those funds are transferred, the production begins!

Lots of Love,

The End of the Campaign - the beginning of something incredible!
almost 5 years ago – Sun, Jun 23, 2019 at 10:56:12 PM

It's done! You made VIAE a REALITY!

So it's 10pm on Sunday night here in Switzerland as I'm writing this update. After 35 Days, the Campaign for VIAE - Roads of Rome has ended.

To be completely honest, when I began this journey, I was unsure if it would work out. I did have a lot of great responses in play-testing and many friends assured me it would become a success. I did have my doubts though, since this is my first Game and I didn't have the resources to launch a big marketing campaign or even enough to produce multiple samples and send them to reviewers. It was all just based on my faith in what I've created, and the faith of you all that it would be successful.

And you proved that to me these past 35 days. There were some slow days, but in the end, your support and voices on social media made a difference. Not only in the progress of the campaign, but also in the way I see how a bunch of people can come together and create something from an Idea.

I will always be thankful for what you have done for me and VIAE. Thank you for joining me on this!

THANK YOU

Now that the campaign has ended, you'll soon receive access to the BackerKit Pledge Manager where you can finalize your order. You'll be able to add additional copies, add ons and other things right there, but the next Update will address that.

I need to contemplate what a massive impact this will have on my life and how fortunate I am to be able to create my favorite game. This is the best day in my life! I get to realize my dream.

FUNDED!!! WHOOOOHOOO!
almost 5 years ago – Thu, Jun 20, 2019 at 11:17:26 PM

With absolute pleasure and ecstatic joy I can tell you all:

VIAE - Roads of Rome will become a reality!

Thanks to all of you, with your kind support, going above and beyond to help me create my most favorite game! There's still a few days to go, but everything now is just an incredible bonus!

Oh and as a token of my gratitude to you all, VIAE will be printed in the best possible quality! This means, better card stock (310msg Black Core), matt varnish with linen finish, and more durable card board. This was a stretch goal as well, but I'm just so incredibly happy that I'm doing it anyways. You guys deserve it!

I can't wait to see your reactions when you unbox it. I'm kinda lost for words at the moment... I've been working on this for over a year now and it seems so surreal that the game that I made long ago out of printer paper, settlers game pieces and MtG d4's will actually get made! I can't believe how fortunate I am...

So what's next?

We still have till sunday before the campaign ends, so it's not over just yet. But after the campaign ends, you'll soon after get access to the Pledge Manager, where you can reaffirm your pledge, the add ons you selected and your shipping address.

That's it for now, I need a moment... Thank you all. Again. This is simply overwhelming. :D

LAST STRETCH! We're about to being funded!
almost 5 years ago – Thu, Jun 20, 2019 at 09:29:00 AM

AVE, great Conquerors of the Roman Empire!

As we're heading into the last couple days of the campaign, once more, I'd like to thank each and every last one of you for your incredible ongoing support! Looks like we're on a great way to becoming funded!

I've started working on a Pledge Management page, so we can kick it right off as soon as the campaign has hopefully successfully ended. This will let you confirm your shipping address, your selected Add-Ons and will streamline the process to make sure you get exactly what you want.

On another note, LoadingReadyRun has uploaded the VOD of the Preview Games they streamed on Twitch to YouTube! Check it out here if you haven't yet, but keep in mind, they were playing a Beta-version of the game, so some wordings and basic rules have changed in the final iteration of the game.

This has been a wild ride so far and I can't wait to see you playing VIAE, so let's keep sharing this with everyone interested or still on the fence!

And as always,

X O - Atlas
